In a somewhat shocking move, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Will and Kate have created a channel on YOUTUBE! The once royal family who seemingly enjoyed staying off social media have now created a YOUTUBE account and have already gained 220k subscribes in the first 12 hours!

My only question now is what kind of content will they be posting - what are your thoughts on the royal family joining YouTube?
Interesting... I can't say I'm bothered in the slightest about the royal family, but it's nice they've decided to get onto youtube. I imagine it'll be used to promote everything they're doing

I would rather they didn't.
Royalty is about duty, not celebrity.
The royals do a lot to help people as well don't they? We live in the 21st century where technology is key.. Personally if they're able to reach out to and help more people by starting a youtube account, then I say that is their duty, its not like they're the ones editing and uploading it etc...

They do, but there's helping in a dutiful way and helping in a celebrity way.
As a general rule, royals who have revealed more about themselves have ended up embroiled in controversy and it has backfired: Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Prince Charles, Diana ......whereas royals who have kept away from the more celebrity aspect have been held in higher esteem such as The Queen, Prince Philip, Princess Anne, Prince Michael of Kent, Princess Alexandria and others.
I think it was King-Emperor George V who said that monarchy was about a nurturing a certain mysticism. Pull back the veil too much and that drops away.
