Hey everyone!

A small update to Triz's post above, but our Pride Flag icon has had a makeover to the modern Progress version of the LGBT+ flag to be more inclusive to the community so many of us are a part of. Learn more about the flag and it's meaning below.

About the flag

The original flag was designed in 1978, and the most iconic version came into use from 1979. Did you know each of the 6 colours has a meaning? They represented different elements of life (red), healing (orange), sunlight (yellow), nature (green), harmony/peace (blue), and spirit (purple/violet).

There have been new versions of the flag created over the years, but in 2018 the common flag with the 'hoist' on the left hand side was designed by Daniel Quasar. These new added colours represents trans individuals (light blue, light pink, white), marginalized POC communities (brown, black), as well as those living with AIDS, those no longer living, and the stigma surrounding them (black).
