View Full Version : Christmas is coming
So December is nearly here, Christmas is just around the corner!
When do you put up your Christmas trees and decorations, and do you have a favourite Decoration?
I'll be doing mine at the beginning of December.

Normally we start putting them up anytime after Thanksgiving. Don't ask how long we keep them up though, because they definitely stay up a long time LOL.
Oo that's hard to pick a favorite decoration. I love lights just in general, whether that's on the tree or on our railing outside. I have a light up tree with white lights in my office right now. It's not for Christmas, but it gives off the vibes and I love it.

Not sure when we are doing ours. Probably within the next few weeks now. Usually I have a massive tree with loads of baubles, tinsel and lights but last year was a disaster with my cat so thinking of getting just a smallish fibre optic type thing.
My favourite decoration is my wreath. I love wreaths. Halloween wreath, Easter wreath, Christmas wreath. Love it.

I definitely agree about the cat part. My cat likes to sit and knock all of the decorations off the tree, or eat the tree, either one.

She realised she could climb the middle right up to the top of the tree. Once she started she loved it. Doing it daily, the tree was ruined. She'd sit on like a branch some how, it was mental.
I don't even own any decorations, not even a tree.
So safe to assume mine will not be going up this year...
Maybe when I get kids I'll buy some, but until then I'll be a party pooper... I have my mate living with me and his GF, so perhaps they'll buy some? Who knows.

I have an annual tradition where I put up my tree and other decorations and watch Love Actually on 1 December every year! So then.
I have Christmas Decorations (Triz why don't you have any) but I have no plans on putting any up.
My dog would destroy the decorations and probably try to pee on the tree honestly.
Plus I do Christmas by myself and I'm not decorating for just me.
I vote that people post their trees and decorations! I loveeeee seeing lights, decorations, trees, etc etc.
PLEASE LET ME LIVE VICARIOUSLY THROUGH YOUR CHRISTMAS DECO OKAY!!!!!

I 5000% relate to the fact about your dog peeing on it. My cat is 16 years old and thinks anywhere is a litter box now, so bringing in this weird object into the house confuses him

I'll happily take your decorations and put them up for you in my house! :)
I don't have any as I only moved into my own place about 3 years ago and I never really financially recovered since lmao.. I'm constantly buying shit for the house, and then when I finally finished.. I moved house, and now I'm repeating the same process haaha, I've been in there now for like 10 months and I still have shit everywhere, and currently have 1 unfinished room which I intend to make into a cinema room, but currently lack the funds to do so. Plus I need to replace all the windows and half the doors in the house as they're wooden, and I want uPVC as the wooden ones will eventually rot.
Besides, I'm hardly at home (at home more now I moved onto 4on-4off shifts, but I'm still out of the house 4 days a week, then when I am home, I go out and socialise with friends/family etc, so I'd be putting up the decorations just for my neighbours to see.
Honestly don't blame your dog, I'd pee on my tree too, gotta assert my dominance init?
Maybe when I get kids... NAY. If I get kids.. NAY, if I can trick anyone into sleeping with me.. I'll no doubt get decorations for them, but until that happens then I just don't see the point.

I have a tree that I robbed from my dad, it was from WOOLWORTHS so that dates it a bit...
idk when I'll put stuff up, still got Halloween decorations atm. Last year I just put Christmas hats on the ghosts from our Halloween bunting, will prob do that again

I like that compromise.. Keeping halloween alive, but giving a subtle nod to Christmas. 10/10

Yeah we still have pumpkins and stuff up, so I think the first step would be getting rid of those before we have anything Christmas up
