Hahaha.

Well as much as I want the useless Sunak removed (like he removed two previous PMs; Boris and Truss), the idea that putting Penny 'I can't define what a woman is' Mordaunt into Number 10 will bring people like me back is for the birds.

But watching it all unfold and fail will at least be entertaining so frankly I'm all for it. Let it burn.

Note: if Sunak is removed, it will be the fourth Prime Minister of this single parliamentary term.

The reality is that The King would likely refuse to dissolve Parliament and call an election if it was quite clear that the Prime Minister had already lost all of his authority and the Cabinet were in the process of moving against him. All these sort of threats show is the weakness of this particular Prime Minister and the breaking down of discipline in the Tory Party that is facing a wipe out.

The Lascelles Principles are a constitutional convention in the United Kingdom beginning in 1950, under which the sovereign can refuse a request from the prime minister to dissolve Parliament if three conditions are met:

- if the existing Parliament is still "vital, viable, and capable of doing its job",
- if a general election would be "detrimental to the national economy", and
- if the sovereign could "rely on finding another prime minister who could govern for a reasonable period with a working majority in the House of Commons".
