In my view they have just handed the presidency to either her or her deputy, Jordan Bardella.
It's increasingly common now in the western world of liberal elites using the law and courts to pursue their populist political opponents, although as we saw with Donald Trump it eventually seems to completely backfire. Losing the arguments so resorting to dirty political tricks to get their own way - remember the legal challenges to our vote to leave the EU? Incredible.
US Vice President JD Vance was completely right a month or two ago when he questioned why America should have a close alliance with European countries when Europe seemingly doesn't share American values of freedom of speech etc anymore. Take Britain for example - more people have been prosecuted here for so-called hate speech laws than have been in Russia, including a woman who's been taken to court for standing silent praying outside an abortion centre - and I'm supposed to be scared of Putin not our own politicians and bent judges?
Anyway. She can still appeal this decision, but a ton of fuel has just been poured on French politics today.
