Princess Katharine, Duchess of Kent has died aged 92

Her Royal Highness died peacefully at Kensington Palace last night surrounded by the Royal Family

She was the oldest living member of the Royal Family.

She stepped back from royal duties in 2002, loved rap music and worked as a music teacher in a school for a number of years where she didn't tell anybody she was from royalty - I think she quite liked keeping a low profile in her later years.

Flags across the country gone to half-mast.

Her husband Prince Edward, Duke of Kent is now the oldest living royal at 89. It'll be interesting to see where her funeral is held given she was a Roman Catholic, probably not the usual St George's Chapel at Windsor I'd expect. It's going to be difficult fitting the funeral in too, given The King, The Queen and other members of the Royal Family are going to be very busy with the upcoming state visit of President Trump.

Funeral to take place at Westminster Cathedral (see below) on 16th September at 2pm. It'll be the first British royal Catholic funeral in centuries given how she converted in the 1990s. Burial will be in Frogmore Gardens, Windsor - that's where most minor royals are buried.
