Sulake wins Deloitte's Technology Fast50 competition
The interactive entertainment company Sulake Corporation was announced the winner of Deloitte's first Technology Fast50 competition in Finland. Since 2002 The Deloitte Technology Fast EMEA program has ranked the 500 public and private high-tech companies based in EMEA, which have achieved the fastest rates of annual revenue growth over a five year period. In the Finnish Fast50 competition there were 50 companies listed. The younger companies were entitled to join in the Rising Star competition. The winner of the local Technology Fast50 competition is automatically eligible to participate in the EMEA Fast500 competition.
Sulake was established in 2000, and it has more than doubled its annual revenues each year. The first year revenue was 165.000 euros and the revenue for 2004 was 13,7 million euros. The successful first half of year 2005 gives reason to expect similarly high revenue growth for this year.
Sulake specializes in developing, publishing and distributing multiplayer online communities and games. The main product is Habbo Hotel, a youth-oriented game environment. Sulake has localized Habbo Hotel communities in 16 countries on four continents. The Chinese version of Habbo Hotel will be launched before the end of this year. To date, almost 34 million Habbo characters have been created, with over 4.1 million unique users visiting Habbo Hotel each month. Sulake is also extending the Habbo brand to include mobile games and content, animation series and merchandising products.
Sulake has its headquarters in Finland and offices in 14 countries. Currently the group has more than 210 employees worldwide. The main shareholders include Taivas Group, 3i Group plc, Elisa Group and Benchmark Capital followed by a vast number of company employees.
