What are the best 5 rides in the UK?
post pictures if you can :p [makes it more exciting :p]
here are mine

1 - Oblivion [Alton towers]
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/6561/images7xl.jpg
This ride is a vertical drop [65 feet drop] Roller coaster, The Maximum G-force on this ride is 4.5 G's and the top speed is 68 MPH it was built in 1998 by a swiss engineer, the cars can carry 16 passengers on 2 rows. The drop is actually 88.5 degrees, but its enough to convince you its vertical! Only 1 third of the drop is visable, as 2 thirds of it is underground.

2 - Ripsaw [Alton towers]
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/3783/images5im.jpg
This flat ride, was built in 1997, it spins around upside down, and has 35 water jets on it

3 - Nemesis! [alton towers]
http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/8260/nemismall1zj.jpg
This is one ace ride! the theming on the ride makes it special and well known

4 - Rita [alton towers]
http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/152/images3xr.jpg
An ace ride if you ask me! Launches at 100 KPH [61 MPH] and it never really slows down through the ride, made me jump a bit xP

5 - Spinball Whizzer [alton towers]
http://img377.imageshack.us/img377/4849/sw3sg.jpg
Haha Yes this IS my 5th favorite ride! its not scary, I think its just so cool, the cariages spin, and go down steep hills, [giving you bad butterflys :p] This is one of the new[ish] rides at alton towers

Now post yours xD

wat r u on. air is the best ride in the uk, no ride has the smoothness of air ;)

1. Air
www.towerstimes.co.uk/history/construction/air/extra00.jpg click here to see pic :) best because it is smooth long isnt just a one themed ride, eg cork***** or big drop.

2. Nemesis
www.stdavidschurch.freeserve.co.uk/nemesis.jpg Alton towers one, is wicked although a bit bumpy

3. Freezer Thorp Park
www.gettheloop.com/loopmay2/freezer.gif
best wlak through ride i have ever been on

4. Colosus thrope park. although it knocks ur brains out its quite cool

www.hertsad.co.uk/flatfiles/competition/imgs/thorpe/colossuscork*****.jpg

5 Oblivion, quite fun :)

I did like air, its really smooth, but I like really scary rides :p

and! the queue is like a maze when you dont know where your going [me and my friend got lost :p, and it was when we stopped in the hotel, you get in an hour earlier than everyone else, so there was no one to follow either!]

My favourite is probably Nemisis Inferno, possibly Colussus or Samurai?? My little brother likes air.

-Soph-
03-10-2005, 08:59 PM
I love smoke on rides,
when nemesis was first opened [at alton towers] I cant remember the year :p but that used to have smoke on it [around the station mainly]

unluckly i havent manged to get on alot of the new roller coasters but from what i have got on
so far i can only think of my first two in the uk "/

1. Nemisis is an easy first
2. Air Is probaly second

ill update when my brain kicks in, or post a better list.

Want pictures? well im lazy, serch the names on google.co.uk lol :D

Keep in Mind Nemisis is the worlds most intece rollercoaster with up to 4 G's in parts, athogh cork***** is far less intence its just the hard and lumpy restraints that make it painful

-Soph-
12-10-2005, 06:35 PM
ouch dont say the name cork***** :p it brings back bad memorys
[they stopped it at the top, just to bring something to someone] we all thought it had broken down hehe

Urghhh. Air has got to be one of the worst rides I've ever been on. Here's My Top 5!

5. The Beastie (Alton Towers) - It's rough, it's mean, it takes no prisoners. Ultimate thrill.
http://www.towerstimes.co.uk/rides/adventureland/beastie4.jpg

4. The Froghopper (Various Themeparks) - Amazingly scary. It BOUNCES.
http://www.miramarevents.com/marketplace/media-images-2005/froghopper-300.jpg

3. The Tweenies Playground (Alton Towers) - Endorsed by the best ever television programme - 9 thumbs up
http://www.towersalmanac.com/Admin/ride_preview_images/tweeniesplayground.jpg

2. The Dragons Apprentice (LegoLand Windsor) - See the Beastie. Very much the same. Still terrifying.

1. Whirly Birds (LegoLand Windsor) - Everyone's big enough to be a pilot on the Whirlybirds. Climb on and let the spinning propeller take you up and down and up again before you know it. Don't forget to take in the view! YOU CONTROL IT YOURSELF! WOW!

I was taking the miccy. I dunno which ride I like best, probably Spinball Wizzer. That was fun. Nemesis was good like, and I like fun wooden rollercoasters cos they make me laugh.

-Soph-
17-10-2005, 06:55 PM
wooden rollercoasters are realllllly funny if you ask me, they were going to build one at alton towers, but they cant get planning permissions

[if you want proof, I have some :p]

I like wooden rollercoasters because they give you loads of air time at the top of the hills ;p

Woo, we went on the beastie x] Because we was waiting for spinball whizzer and got bored so we went out of the queue and went in the kiddie's part, ended up on the beastie and squirrel nutty ride. Haha, we got told off though for hiding an ice cream in our bags then getting it out on the ride, as she'd told us no icecream was allowed on the ride. Baha.
