Shifting continental plates that go in opposite direction of eachother sometimes force eachother so hard, when they finally slide, a huge wave in the ground occurs. Thus making an earthquake. Amazingly enough, all that force only moves the plates millimeters.

Anyway, indeed sad. Its supposed to get worse over the next few years too.:(

Im confused though, why can an earthquake be related to global warming :S

I thought its just plates that move around on the crust of the earth, and ocasinally hit eachother...

Yea, hurricains and that are probly related to global warming, athogh how it effects earthquakes im not sure, and would guess this is probaly just random "/

So many people dead,:( there's so many disasters happening lately it's hard to realise the immensity of it all.

Yeah, that's so bad! I hate natural disasters, I was a bridesmaid for a couple that are really good friends of the family, and on their honeymoon they were caught in Hurricane Rita! Luckily, they survived, but I really feel for the lonely families that can't afford food, and are waiting for aid...
