It was boring but that episode with Charlie and Claire was soooo cute, and that man in the woods was seriously scary! So yeah it got better the last 2 episodes on CH4, i dont watch the E4 ones cos its past my bedtime lmao.

My brother downloaded the whole first series and he's on episode 4 on series 2

If you think this is "typical" of the shows in America then you're quite wrong. That's why it's so popular. And "predictable"... are you sure you're watching the same programme?

There were a few shows I was disappointed in a while back, but since the one revealing Sawyer's past, they've just been getting better and better :D

It is an attempt to capture the same audience as Lord of the flies. It is typical as many like it aren't very populare so you never hear about them. And i find it predictable, every plot is over the top and does each character have to have such a dramatic past :l

well the best dramas have characters that aren't very dramatic to make it better. Obviously the writers just put this in to get people to watch it each week and so they can get another 3 series out of it. Or in Losts case 6 series
