View Full Version : Habbox - Getting like habbo?

I probably may get cautioned for this, but I'm tired, angry about personal things, stressed and exhausted.

The reason I left habbo was because the service was terrible and the fact they were treating us like four-year-olds. The filter was getting out of hand, we got a two hour ban for saying "cráp". They filtered the stupidest of words, like "poop", for example. But I'm seeing that habboxforum is getting like this too. I have nothing against these forums, but, for example, the mhasturbation thread got locked. It wasn't asking things personal, like, "do you enjoy it?". It was asking if it was good for your health, or not. And there was a message on there saying that if you don't feel confident posting, then dont' post.

Sure, there are youngsters on the forum. But the youngest person on this forum is probably about 11. And, 11 years and up, people are curious what other people their age are going through, they are going through puberty, and have a right to know things such as this. And the phubic hair thread, it's not really disgusting, it's natural hair that grows on your body. Everyone gets it, it's natural. I mean, if we get shex education lessons at school, I fail to see how it's inapropriate. My friend's brother, is in year 5, well, year 6 now, but he had lessons in year 5, explaining the basics of it.

I see how some people may not be confident posting in these threads, but it is up to them if they post or not. I understand how the staff may not like this post, if so, then delete it. I'm too tired/exhausted/stressed/angry to care, I'm not in the best of moods so I'm trying to stay calm, but this was just something that I had to get off my chest.

Very nicely said, and I do agree with you on some of those points.
The fact that the two threads got locked is just immature of JackHb.

Young people do need to find out about it and they are more than likely curious about how other people feel about it.

Also, I suppose this is becoming a bit like Habbo at the fact that alot of words are being filtered.

I think Habbox Forum should make a Forum called 'Personal' which would have the Gay and Lesbian Forum, the Sexual Forum and Health Tips and Advice. Have a warning on the Description warning people to go in, if they go in and cause problems or get offended, Habbox is not to blame but the idiot who went in it.

The Masterbation Thread was a completely normal and mature thread, I found it quite appealing to the younger members of the Habbox Community where female and males could talk about it with the other members. I would re-open it, but I do not wish to face being fired.

As far as I know, both of the threads you are refrerring to were in the Health Tips & Advice Forum -- You said the Forum says 'Don't post if you don't feel comfortable with everybody reading it!', I think you are getting confused with the Gay/Lesbian chat, as the Health Tips & Advice doesn't say 'Don't post if you don't feel comfortable with everybody reading it!'.

What the Health Tips & Advice Forum does say, is 'No talking about Sexual health', rules are rules and them rules have to be followed.

OK some people might be taught about puberty-related things at school, and if someone has a serious question about it (ie they need help) then it's probably ok for them to ask for help on here, however I do not see how 'Do you shave your ***** hair' benefits anybody, it doesn't give anybody information, except who does and who doesn't -- what can you learn from that?

As the the '************ poll' thread, that was asking if it was good or bad for your health, again I don't see what information anybody finds out from this, and I also don't remember been taught about this specific topic when I was 11-12, and there are some 11-12 year olds on the Forum, whether they should be here or not, they still are. This is also sexual health, and one of the rules is 'No talking about Sexual health'.

Some people want to discuss these things, and some don't, therefore it's best that they are not discussed at all and the people who do post on Forums specifically set up for discussing the things. (EG GovTeen).

Some of the things I've said in this post are probably filtered.. but I guess you know what they are.

Hope this has cleared a few things up.

I know this is off-topic but I found it rude that in the Announcement.

It just said: klock no longer works at habbox

Not even a 'We thank him for his help'

And, not even a capital K for Klock - how disrespectful.

Yea id like to see that idea implimnted since it does make alot of sence, and should get rid of some of the aboulty hyporcital aspects of habbox's topic type rules "/

So basically Seacat, you are saying or Habbox are saying, Gays and Lesbians are allowed to '**********' while the others are not? This is where my idea of a Personal Forum comes into play, where members can talk about Personal things to do with Health Tips and Advice, Puberty and Gay and Lesbian.

So why does habbox only allow sexual matters of homosexulas to be descused, there are plenty of hertosexual members here to who aslo have questions and conserns "/

So why doesnt habbox just section of a forum, like they did for the gay issues forum? and why is it only homosexual issues that are allowed? why not hertosexual ones, or even ones that apply to both, i still dont get that "/

Or ones that apply to three things, Homosexuals, Heterosexuals and their sexual health. It would be visable to make a Personal Forum of some sort.

the gay and lesbian forum does slightly bend the rules a bit so i guess there would have to be tighter rules on the section or losser rules on the rest of the forum.

But you have to remember a parent looking at the thread might find it unexceptable and wouldn't let their child use it. I know every1 is 11+ but some parents can be like that :)

I am saying it shouldn't be posted anywhere, was just correcting the thread creator who seemed to think that the 'Dont post here if you are umcomfortable' thing was on the Health Tips & Advice Forum.

I agree, and maybe you should PM sierk or Spectate about getting a Forum set up especially for hetrosexuals -- but I think threads similar to those I've already mentioned would also be closed there, as again I do not see why that needs to be, or should be discussed on a Forum aimed towards so many different age groups, from young groups of people to older groups.

That's what I mean, some people are taught, and some aren't, and therefore it's best for the people who want to discuss them things to goto another Forum, so it doesn't at all affect the members who don't wish to discuss/see them things.

I never wanted the Gay/Lesbian Forum to be brought in to begin with, I'm not sure if people requested it, but I didn't see what it had to do with Habbo, OK there are some Forums on here that are nothing to do with Habbo (EG Television etc), but they are not on a specialist subject that some may find difficult to discuss, like the Gay/Lesbian Forum. Even though people don't have to discuss it (no-one forces them), it still appears on the 'New Posts' page, and when browing the Forum in general. It was bound to cause problems as it is such a strong subject. I do agree with Gomme that if we must have them kind of Forums, then they should be specially set up, e.g. have a Password to the Forum with the password on the Forum description, so that people who want to enter can, people who don't wanna enter, don't. :)

You are suggesting personal Forums, but there are personal Forums set up if thats that kind of things you wanna discuss, I've already mentioned GovTeen

Thus a warning when you enter. You must be something plus to view this forum, by entering this forum you agree that you are held responsible for your actions blah blah blah

35% of this forum isn't Habbo related, plus Habbox does have a gay community and most the users are not homophobic.

Yeah, some things are unreasonable, but when you signed up you agreed to abide by the rules. Not much we can change about that.

And I agree about the Habbo filter thing. Some of the words that are put on there shouldn't be on there.

Ok, i must have misunderstood, but in catering for age groups (esply the age group wich id say makes up the majoty of active members) should be a priorty, if sectioned of, its up to the people wether they wish to see it or not "/

Yes, but many members would wish to stcik with a forum they already know thw workings of and are useful, wich would help make people more settled and able to ask questions that they would find empaing to ask else where "/

Im not entirly sure why the forum came up ether, but my main point is, that if there are sexual matters allowed to be descused for the gay members, the hetrosexual members should also get the same privalge., otherwize its just plain hypocritcal "/

Look on both sides of the argument before comming up with a statement. I agree that the personal forums eg the gay and bisexual should be better protected as if i was younger i could just walsts in there and read threads about subjects that are completley unncessary. Sure it may be OK for teens to discuss them but with the internet beeing such a wide resource now and anyone can get onto it. A young kid may read it
