//Some tags are unfinished.
//You need a layout [Zymic.com]
//You need to either learn css+html basic that is

well you had marquee , links , Iframe ! and image.. all ok that's the basic now try to make a layout in paint or paint pro or somthing like that and put it on your site ;) when you did that , your site will look lots better! Ow and use some font :) for e.g. :
<font size=1 color=#000000>your text</font> so your text looks nicer :)

put text in Iframes and slice your layout or set it as background

Flauvo
16-10-2005, 07:22 PM

Dont use Zymic. You wont get anywhere. Use NotePad and keep learning bits at a time like I did. I made the ultimate mistake and tok the easy way. I used DreamWaver and FrontPage with PhotoShop and ImageReady for Desings and coding. One piece of advice. Do it the hard way. No short cuts. Learn as you went along like me. I'm picking up a bit of PHP now. I only know HTML and CSS well. Everything else is like a blur

NO SHORT CUTS

Give him a break. It's the best way to learn by learning bits of code etc

This is his site, is it not. Trying to trick him into either saying he used dreamweaver or freewebs or something ;)

Hes only cheating himself, so it doesn't really matter. If he want to try and look good badly, then he isnt learning anything. If he's doing this the long way, then hes learning

I Think He Did Well For His First Time. And Even If He Used Dreamweaver Or A Program.. Thats How I Learnt. I Just Learnt By My Self And Via My Mates.. Splintercell! Acually Helped Me Alot.. And I Acually View His Source And Saw How He Did It. And Now I Can Make Website Templates And Code. Programs Like Dreamweaver/Fireworks/Adobe Paint Shop You Can Buy.. If You Really Want Too.. It Took Me 1 Month On Dreamweaver And Then I Deleted It (Trial) And Now I Use cPanel Editor Or Notepad. If I Cant Do Something I Research Or Ask Mates. God No Need To Argue.

Look At My Sites Now.. - I Still Use Macromedia Fireworks. Thats A Recommended Program. For Example. Habstar.com
Key-Hosting.co.uk
All My Sites.

HabboPixel - Splints Site. Splintercell! Knows More Than Me. I Recommend Him For Help. Hes Also A Habbox Web Designer.

I didnt use dreamwaver.

www.funky-chickens.com (http://www.funky-chickens.com) was my guide.

I dont even have dreamwaver. I tested out what funky chickens had. So i typed some cool stuff in. It was my guide. Then i put it on notepad then hosted it with freewebs.

Ok, You need to start again as your site has no merit, my orgnal site was abosult ****, yes, but i actaly had some merit, as in it was coded properly, with stuff that made sence, with a sorce code like that i realy have no idea what in the world u were thinking.

Http://htmlgoodies.com see html primers.

Then before adding in pointless ****, get the very basic stuff out of the way, learn to format a html page, the actal <html> tags, head, and body, opened and closed with attribiutes that make sence, Dont even look at javascript to u have the html down, even if u cant make a site, skip that just learn to format text conhinety, then phraps ad a few tables, and put some shape on it.
How ever bad it may look, before u worry about that, the sorce code is your prioty, it needs to make sence, theres no point writing code u dont understand, and with code like that i cant see how you could.

Htmlgoodies, again, intricse you to the idea, conspetaly, as well as how to do it, so u have some idea what going on, yes at first you will be ****, but you wil remain **** if you dont do it properly, start from scratch, get the basics then move on.
Html is very forgiving, but other langwages however simple wont be.

Funkey chickens ****s IMO, htmlgoodies is my advice, take it or leave it and i know this is harsh, but if you realy want any success its advice you need to take,.
Html is easy once u understand it, it wont get any easyer if you dont start understanding it thogh.

www.w3schools.com

Probably the best for learning html.

Another thing you could do is experiment, use codes, do whatever, if it comes out ok then you've learnt something, if not then... try again, there's no harm in trying

For me i find w3schools stupid.. www.htmlgoodies.com (http://www.htmlgoodies.com) gives you a clear easy way to learn HTML CSS PHP Etc and it comes mainly in small short primers so you don't learn about stuff like PHP while reading how to do summet else it's neat and not confusing.
