Need c/c on layout

I've made this layout for a hosting site I'm thinking of opening, called Hosted Habbos. It's one of the first layouts I've made, and involved some swapping between Fireworks and Photoshop.

What do you all think of it? Can you give it a /10 mark and some comments on ways I could improve it?

I think if you add some shading it might look abit better.

How do you do shading? Never done it before :P

Add darker colours of the background near boarders that merge onto the background.
