What on earth is an emo??

What on earth is this 'emo' thing everyone's going on about-Is it like some sort of chav? Hasn't come down my way yet;)

An emo is some lowlife immature brat who loves seeking attention.

Like a goth but much darker and Harry Potter like! Although you can find some definitions here;

Emo isn't slitting your wrists or crying or seeking attention.
Emo is just a fashion. Here's a small guide.

Side Parting.
Tight Jeans.
Studded Belts.
Checkered Vans or Converse.
Checkered Wrists Bands.
Listens to Emo Music.

Thats practically emo, it's none of this slitting wrists crap.
