Instead of just havign all sofas roudn the edge, you could maybe divide the room up into wee areas. Like an area to perhaps get some drinks and coffee and stuff, and another to sit and chat in or something?

I'd suggest the following furnis for a start:
-Bonsais
-Handwoven rugs [Not the white one]
-A few more sofas
-A few more lamps
-More calligraphy posters
-Some more red knots
It's too spacy and needs filling in, plus some of the furni is randomly placed and looks odd. Put bonsais between the sofas, preferably on top of a Z shelf with because it looks better floating than on the floor. At the top right hand side put a few more sofas against the empty wall and then use the lamps to put in between them. Fill the floor in the middle with handwoven rugs and use more calligraphy posters; plus some more red knots around the wall? You could also use rollers, fish and cabbages to create the sushi effect in the middle of the room, and perhaps have red pillows surrounding it with some more bonsais at the corners? It should look much better after this, and then you can repost for improvements on the finishing touches.
