Just Wanting a Bit of Feedback
Ok, a few comments before I post this poem. I don't know why I wrote it, I don't know what inspired it. I don't know what is about really. I just started typing and this came out. I would love your opinions on it. :)
I lay on my duvet staring up at the ceilings,
Watching as the shadows form, my mind blank,
A car zooms past the house, headlights glaring,
Like a pair of furious eyes, intent on causing harm.
I am oblivious to it, not affected,
I don’t notice anything, I’m trapped,
Trapped in my own distraught mind,
Panicking and trying to escape.
I try to put it behind me,
Struggling to cope with the pain,
My heart is an anvil in my body,
Weighing heavily on my mind and soul.
I close my eyes and try to sleep,
I shall never dream again,
Her face will never leave my mind,
I’ve lost my love forever.
