i mean around girls lol
Oh right. Flirt with ugly girls until you get used to flirting and it just becomes second nature, then start flirting with fit birds?
Umm...Just tell yourself Who cares what others think whenever your nervous.
this use to happen to me && it still does a little bit.
ive become more confedient and i talk hell of a lot - i dont stop talking. I think you should on a peice of paper, write down things you want to talk about to your friends etc.
e.g
then like, talk about therm, then cross it out once you've talked about it. It makes you think of more what to say.
- seeing a match
- my bday party
- new cool phone out
Confidence seems to be a big problem with members on this forum, as I've had to answer this sort of thing quite a lot now... (gets idea for next teen life article) :P.
Anyway, lol. Confidence is something some people just seem to have and others don't - however - it is something that can be worked and improved on. :)
Think about it, if you sit in every night or in big groups you stay all quiet and don't take part, then theres no way your going to get noticed much and going to become anymore confident is there? You just need to grasp life with both hands and make the most of it. Don't be shy and don't let your opinions be pushed to the side. You should stand up and be heard just like everyone else.
If you really want to improve your confidence, then joining some sort of afterschool club is really good for boosting it - trust me. You get to interact with other people the same age as you, and those who have the same/similar interests to you. And there you go - you have your first conversation starter!
Don't constantly be worrying about what you can say next, just start a conversation off and take it from there and let things go naturally. If your constantly thinking "omg what will I say next" then it's gonna make things 10 times worse for you and make you even more nervous. Just remember, the person is hardly going to stand there and just listen to you rambling on for 30 minutes! They will be starting conversations and new topics as well, so don't worry! :)
I really lacked confidence in Year 7, Now im In Year 11 and to be truly honest Im full fo confidence now, You just gradually gain it but it helps to just be abit rebellious sometimes, that kinda boosted my confidence. :P
^ ROFL, My form teacher told me to be quiet once, So i said shut up u mong to her for some reason ;)
I know this sounds weird but i gained confidence when I got involved with a new group of mates
I read a book called "Feel the fear and do it anyway".
