Return policy help!

Ok, today I bought a skateboard that costed around $79.99 and I threw away the box.. but I still have the reciept and I want to return it, I've only rode it like once and left no damage whatsoever.. and the store's return policy says the following..

Just say like.. you got it for your birthday from a friend, rode it to your house and you found out your parents got you a better one or something like that.
It's not completely honest though.

I work at Big W in Australia, and our policy will let you return it. No need for ******** stories. Just say "I would like to return this, I have the reciept but the packaging is in the bin"

Okay, thanks! I hope I'll be able to return it.. I've discovered it has a little mark on the board.. but I doubt I caused it because when I purchased it the box was opened.. I hope the box is still in the bin tomorrow when we go to attempt to return it.. then I'll have a better chance..

Well you have the item in goog condition, it's not in the box but it says that's only preferable - and you have all paper work - so why not! :P

It only has a little scratch on the bottom.. but the rest is in perfect condition, I'm going back to the store today to check to see if I can find the box, hopefully I can return it without the box.. wish me luck.
