Simple recipe change :)

Okay the recipe is for Individual Chicken and Mushroom pies :)

The recipe (in the book) is:
60g butter
2 leeks
6 chicken thigh fillets
270g button mushrooms
2 ts plain flour
600 ml chicken stock
1-2 sheets read rolled puff pastry
1 egg yolk

Now, everyone knows what a C+M pie taste like, and im cooking it for my family, id really like to change it, without messing it up.


Any suggestions? +Rep to real suggestions

maranate the chicken in bbq sauce or somthing :?

add a few diced carrots? just to make it a tad healthier? i enjoy cooking but im not really an expert on pies. Chilli con carne and curries and tuna pasta bakes are my specialities.

also, dont know what the recipe says, but glaze the pie with milk or egg so when it cooks, it is a nice golden brown. don't drench it though otherwise it won't cook.

What type?
Like normal slice ham from sainsburys or a chunk of ham?

Just alter the leeks with other vegetables, like peas or something.

Change the stock to a sauce, like a white sauce, that'd go quite nice.

Those are individual ideas btw, not together lol.
