Is anyone going to the NME Big Gig at the O2 on 28th February? :) It's an awesome gig that comes between NME Awards and Club NME! Performing are The Cribs, The Klaxons, Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs and Manic Street Preachers.

nme sucks. i used to think rolling stone was close-minded and irrational, but then i found nme.
nme does not suck, americans do not know the meaning of 'indie'. sorry mate it had to be said
but on topic.. i wish i had tickets, might go down on the night and get a ticket off a tout, the line up is good
actually it's the other way around. american indie is completely different than uk indie. uk indie has a very specific sound, while american indie has no specific sound at all. it's very diverse and has a wide variety of influences. proof that nme is pretentious and close minded is their one-star review of "blueberry boat" by the fiery furnaces. i wont even go into their whole 2004 arcade fire scandal.
nme is the laziest journalism ever. aren't 'cool' magazines like nme supposed to find bands not latch onto 'next big things'?
i agree
i do read nme, and i enjoy reading it, however i do not like their way of finding a band, then bigging them up all the time. its annoying, and un fair on other bands that need, and may well deserve the media coverage a lot more.
i might go, but i only really want to see klaxons and bloc party. i saw klaxons last month, and they were amazing, and seen as this might be the only gig they play this year, i wanna try and get to it
