LETS SETTLE THIS

GCSE: AQA Highter Tier Biology.
Remember the question about energy and it contained the numbers 84 and 7?

I THINK the question was what percentage of the full energy (84J) is wasted (7J). Right me and my friend have done it this way. My friend's biology teacher also said this.

84 divided by 100 to give you 1% of it. Then, times by 7.
5.88%

BUT I e-mailed my Biology teacher and she and my friend both say:

7 divided by 84 x 100.
8.3%.


SO I don't get it! What's the answer? What did you put?

Yeah i got that question. Oh darn. I put the second one.

Anyway the test was pretty okay. The worst questions were the Dog ones. Didn't make sense at all.

i put 8.3% but i think that's wrong butttttttttt whatever

to get a percentage, its 7/84 X 100 = 8.33%

EDIT: to above, 7 goes into 84 12 times, is that how you came to that?

the answer is 8.3% 7/84 x 100

7 cannot possibly be 5% of 84 as 8.4 is 10%!!!

what you found btw was 7% of 84 as you X 1% by 7

I put 8.3 recurring. Thought it was an easy question.

The magnesium and nitrates one annoyed me because I hadn't revised any of that... or maybe it was the fact the teacher didn't bloody tell us anything about it!! :@ Oh well, I'll get over it.

and yeah, I just completely had educational guesses with the dog's pancreas and whatnot...

I put 8.3% I didn't put recurring tho but I doubt it will matter :P
You had me worried there cus I thought I had lost a mark haha :rolleyes:

Most of the paper was easy, I was fairly peeved to say the least that we had no questions on osmosis/diffusion which I had revised alot :X The fingerprint question threw me abit when I first looked at it but when I got started on it, it was fairly easy.
