I'd get to know her first tbh, i'm happy being best friends with this girl, I like her but we don't go out, I suppose the way we spend lunch together with noone else and hold hands etc makes us look like we go out, but we don't and it's just as good, if not better :D Also you don't have to go out with someone to show your love for them etc!

ask her. its way better to ask someone out and have them say no than not ask them out at all. then you're just thinking about it all the time. if they say no, at least you know. and most girls are flattered when a guy asks them out, even if they do say no.
