[PHP] Random Generation

Ladies and Gentlemen of this community of coding

I am asking for your help on this task

I have a system, and a form is filled in, adds the information to the database but i'm in need of assistance, you see i am looking for a PHP script to automatically generate me a Reference Number for the people,

Any help would be appreciated
