Illegal Downloading
I know your going to go in this thread and say 'Isn't this from the Debates Forum?" Well, your kinda right. This thread was influenced from the debate but I want to ask a question.
I'm planning to stop using limewire and the forums and stuff completely. I want to know due to possible FBI/etc raiding of sites for copyright issues, is there any way to avoid this? I mean I'm planning to stop now, but then I did it before. But yeah, I'm kinda paranoid of them finding evidence (IP, etc. ) that I did it before and then come barging in my house for something. Now that I read this whole thing I don't want my family to be affected by this whole ordeal, so I want to stop completely.
Is there a way where I just stop doing it and/or delete everything and/or anything else so that I can be 'out of the radar?"
PS: Before you ask, I don't use torrents. Just Limewire/Forums, but not anymore!

The chances of having authorities barging through your front door for simply downloading songs/movies is quite miniscule UNLESS you are a large supplier of illegal downloads and by large I mean the first to have them on the web or you have a large and public stash of illegal pornography then id say you would be pretty safe.
In most cases anyway, if you are downloading a song from Limewire it would be hard to trace you if it was a popular song say Imagine by John Lennon as so many thousands of people would have downloaded it the backlog of IP's from downloaders would be massive.

The chances are extrenely slim that you would be caught, unfortunately. As a film-maker, I am very anti-piracy.

extremely slim chance of getting caught. Just don't continuously download illegally as your internet providers will be able to see.

If there was any chance ever that i would be cought i wouldn't do it. :)

I was thinking the same thing. But I realized the chances are of me getting caught. Their tiny, so it's not that bad.
