I have been lookin around for a new processor and i have found one on ebay but i am not that very clever on telling how good it is or anythin and its really confusing and i dont wanna buy it without knowing if its any good.
Its a
AMD ATHLON 64 X2 5000+ 2.6GHZ PROCESSOR AM2

What processor do you have at the moment? If you have an intel cpu then an amd cpu won't work with your motherboard :)
I'd suggest Intel if you're rebuilding a PC.
If you're sticking to the same mobo and its AM2 then i'd get a Quad core instead of a Dual core.
Isn't that processor pretty old aswell, as my old computer (bought feb 08) has the 5400+ and that wasn't exactly new at the time :P (thankfully with my new computer i got quad core Q6600 but as i said you won't be able to run if its a AMD chipset.
What motherboard/socket do you have?

It'll be 478 or 775.
If you currently have Pentium (as stated) then ut definate;y won;t be compatible with the CPU in the OP.
