My stepdad said I could have his old iPhone since he got the 3G upgrade. I just stuck my orange sim card in to it, not expecting it to work, but it didn't say anything like 'sim card not compatible'. And in the corner it says I have signal. So I tried texting my friend and he got the text.
How the hell was it that easy to use an iPhone with Orange?
maybe he unlocked it before he gave it to you?

software unlock i think. i used winpwn to unlock and jailbreak my iphone. then restored it and it kept its unlocked status.

lucky lucky people in Europe. In Canada if you attempted something similar it wouldn't work because firstly, iPhones are ripoffs here, and secondly the Cellular company wouldn't callower it, despite the device being unlocked.
