A no confidence motion in House of Commons Speaker Michael Martin is to be tabled by a Conservative backbencher.
Mr Martin has come under pressure over his handling of the furore over leaked details of MPs' expenses.
Some MPs felt he was more concerned with attacking those who criticised him than responding to public anger.
Labour MP Gordon Prentice said the Speaker was "too compromised" by recent events to continue in the role and ought to stand down immediately.

It's been coming for a long time, hes a biased, socialist, arrogant man who the majority of people cannot stand, the way he spoke to that Labour MP was disgraceful. The sooner he is gone the better.

Meanwhile Gordon Brown (our economic miracle man) has pledged £12 million of our money to Pakistan, which now refuses to fight terrorism head on, still spends money on a build up against India and meanwhile our own country is in ever-growing debt, Gordon Brown is telling Gurkhas who fought for this country they can't stay here because they 'might not contribute' (maybe he should tell the other lot who come here purely for benefits) and finally people on the NHS are being told due to lack of funds they cannot have the drugs needed to prolong their lifespan, as they have a terminal illness.
