Gearbox

Hey yeah just wondered if any of you knew right, well I have a polo 1.9 but the gearbox and clutch need replacing. Wanted to see if any of you knew whether it would work putting the clutch and gearbox from a 1.4 into this car or whether I have to get the proper ones for a 1.9.

I'm assuming the 1.4 is a petrol car. If so, then no as the petrol will have shorter gear ratios than the diesel as diesels don't rev as high but have more torque.

Clutch I think would be fine though but I don't really know.

yeah, the 1.9 will be the sdi/tdi and the 1.4 will be petrol, AFAIK the lowest capacity diesel model they do is the 1.5 SDI..

what polo is it, the 6n?
