Really can't decide

I went to PC world today to have a look at macbook pro's, for the same price I could have a massive 24 inch imac that has much better specs and a better screen. The only problem is that I like to watch TV in the living room with my laptop on my knee's so if I got the imac I would be stuck up in my room. I don't ever take my laptop out of the house but I move around the house quite a bit. Do the pro's of getting an imac make up for the downside of being stuck in my room? I keep changing my mind like every 20 mins so this is my last resort. This is going to be the most expensive purchase I have ever made so I don't want to regret it a few weeks down the line. Also, I have never used an apple computer before so keep it basic. :P

To be honest, I'd pick an iMac because I personally think they look cooler than the macbooks, and you also get more for your money.

This is well weird because me and my friend in college was having exactly the same conversation last week. I love the macbooks but he was like you. He said you could get the IMAC for near enough the same price as the macbook but you get more for your money. I personally would choose the macbook because i am like yourself and i would prefer to move around my house. But if your like my friend and want more for your money then the imac is for you :D Hope i helped lalala

Ahh ty. :) The problem is not the cost, it's choosing the right machine. I was looking at the macbook pro's and never even thought about the imac's untill my mum said they are almost the exact same price, I was stunned from just how big the screen was and how stylish it looked. Still can't decide. :/

get the imac and then if you need a laptop just get a **** one and use that

I had this problem when I bought my iMac last Christmas.

I bought an iMac in the end, and a cheap Netbook. I have my iMac for my main machine, but my Netbook for portability. Also with this, I can run any Windows apps I have on the Netbook. Hardly any need for hardware virtualization on the mac:).

That seems like the ideal thing to do when faced with this problem. Get the iMac for power, and get a Netbook for portability for around the house. Easy :)

Nice idea but to get the iMac and a decent netbook it would add up to around £1,500...

Get a crap netbook then :P You can probably get second hand EEE 901s fo £150 on ebay.

Second hand Aspire Ones are probably even cheaper :D
