Unfortunately this isn't the place to start discussion about cult flicks. Most people who use this forum don't know anything outside of what's showing in the multiplex, which is fine, but you're probably only going to get a response in a thread like this from me and a couple of others who are interested in such films. I'm probably get attacked by someone for writing that, even though it's a fair, honest statement, but such is life.
Anyway, The Stuff - it's a fun, silly, campy little movie, like most of Larry Cohen's films. Check out the It's Alive series and Maniac Cop from him, too, if you haven't already.
Well we can always discuss it eh!
I watched Maniac Cop, which was far more than just a simple slasher which is what I was expecting. Of course, I watched this before watching The Stuff so I had no previous knowledge of what the guy was like.
It's Alive sounds pretty snazzy! Tonight I'm gonna watch The Stepfather, seen that?
The original I hope? Yes, not seen the remake.
Of course the original! I avoid horror remakes (any remakes, but horror especially) like the plague. Bar a fair few like Cronenburg's The Fly or Carpenter's The Thing for example.
Yeah, they are two films better than the original. The Thing isn't 100% a remake as it's adapted more faithfully to the source material than the actual first movie. Notice how old they are and compare them to any horror remake since.
