I've got a 16GB 2nd gen touch (with the MB serial number) running iOS 4. I'm on Windows. How do I jailbreak it?
I'm a total noob when it comes to these things, so if someone could really help me out, I'd appreciate it.

I'm not sure if we are allowed to link you to such things so I won't however if you really want to do it, bearing in mind it will void your warranty, then I'd use "Dev Team Blog" you can find it with a simple Google search. If you want to use iOS 4 then you might be out of luck because I'm not sure if they have it up and running yet but keep checking back anyway, they will before long :)
redsn0w.

You'll want the 0.9.5 BETA of Redsn0w for 4.0, so here's a quick link to the BETA download section: http://wikee.iphwn.org/howto:rsbeta#download_links
Download, unzip, run the program, it'll guide you through it :)
You can even enable the 4.0 backgrounds and multitasking! :P
I'm gonna do it in the next week or so then.
I'll wait till I've moved my iTunes over to my desktop, and then I'll jailbreak it :D
Couldn't be bothered to move it over onto the desktop. Used redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5, and it's jailbroken successfully :)
You wont void your warranty, whoever said that has no experience with jailbreaking. A simple factory restore on iTunes can put it back to normal.
I'll be honest. The warranty ran out 2 days ago now. If it breaks, it's just an excuse to upgrade in September :D
Loving the jailbreak features though...
If a iPhone/iPod is fully broken, e.g. dropped and not turning on, how are they meant to know it's jailbroken... as long as the iPhone/iPhone is functional you will always be able to restore.
People make it sound as though the 'jailbreak' will actually 'break' your iPhone. It won't. It's as safe as houses.
