I used to play WoW, but my computer sort of messed up because the graphics card etc couldn't run it. I want to get a gaming computer under 400 pounds which could make it run on high graphics very smooth. Is it possible?

£400? I think you'll have trouble in 25 mans with high graphics.
edit: I use a laptop because I move around a lot. £550 and I get 30-35 FPS in 25 mans with everything on low.
edit 2: If you're thinking of building it yourself, have a look at http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...ld-I-Build-Buy
Gives you a rough idea of the parts you should be looking for.
My base PC atm cost me £280 for, gonna get a nvidia 9800 gt and a 550w OCZ psu to replace the crap graphics card, should take me to around 60 fps on high graphics., which will be about err £410. Depends what parts you buy really.
My mate works for a computer parts company so i can get everything at retail price and some parts free.
Im looking at spending about £500 for my new computer but im building it myself + i get everything cheap.
My current basic desktop atm cost me £180 and it runs fine on wow normally so im sure £400 could get you an okayish gaming comp.
I had this problem, quit for 2-3 years and found out my computer couldnt run WoW at all let alone raids. All i did was upgrade my RAM and buy a new graphics card (only a £80 one) and everything is fine, get 40 odd fps (thas medium graphics never tried high)
I currently have my graphics maxed out at 1680x1080 and I can get about 30 - 40 fps in 25 mans depending on what's on the screen.
Specs of my PC:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz
Corsair XMS2 4GB 800MHz
Gigabyte EP45-US3LR DDR2 Mobo
XFX (NVIDIA) GeForce GTS250 512MB GPU
1x 23" LG Flatron W2361V, 1x 22" LG Flatron W2242T
I spent £700 building my own PC. I run WoW on full graphics (500 spell effects too), about 40 fps everywhere while watching something (I always watch movies or TV shows on my computer while playing).
I run everything on max about 50-60fps everywhere
I can't get it at all :( But when I did have it :D It used to be fine on high graphics :)
I don't know if this is still the case but I have heard that WoW does not require a brilliant graphics card, as it is mainly the CPU that it relies on.
I keep the shadows on low as they seem to be the thing that causes the biggest FPS drop (WoW has a really bad shadows engine >.<). Also, a SSD will help in places like Dalaran where lots of player textures have to be loaded up. WoW puts a lot of pressure on the hard drive to read this data - a SSD will be able to read this data very quickly and will give a faster loading speed meaning the game will run more smoothly.
Hope this helps. :)
