Just wondering if anyone has heard of Project Canvas and what there thoughts are - do you think it could be a success or not.
Project Canvas is simply a project trying to create a open internet-connected television platform with the BBC, Chanel 4, ITV plc, Arqiva, BT and TalkTalk all partners together. Channel 5 - or simply Five, was involved but due to their financial situation had to drop out and rumours are Orange are considering joining.
From what I know the idea is simple - a way you'd be able to get stuff such as 4OD, BBC iPlayer and other services right from your TV - allowing you to watch stuff when away from your computer and not needing something like a PS3 and so on.
However you will need a certain set up box according to the site. The only problem I can see with this is, the service sounds really promising, but would people like myself with sky not be able to get it?
What do you think. Check out http://www.projectcanvas.info/ for more information.
