I'll be watching this thread I want the answer to this too! Although I havent been getting 3k, more like 1/2k.
Have you been to car comparison sites to find the best deal?
try just goin 3rd party for now then
Car comparison sites arn't that bad to be fair im paying £1100 for a 1.8 Audi A3 or something along those lines. Cannot go wrong with Quin ;)
i have been:(
i've seen quinn on the comparison sites and it's as expensive as the others. on their website it also says 'Your vehicle must have a registration number which reflects the jurisdiction where your vehicle will be kept.' and the car i'm looking at is mw, which i'm guessing is manchester and it wont be kept there so :S
Look at more than one comparison site for a start, lowest quote I got for my renewal on one was £700 and the other £1200.
My first year was £1400 third party fire and theft but I think that was a little expensive. Try putting your mum & dad (or whichever adult lives with you) as named drivers on the policy, it doesn't knock much off but it knocks a little off as they think you will be more careful with a shared car, but equally it's still your policy, so its in your name and you build up no claims.
