ok right i dont know if this is a good idea but it just cropped up

ok what about a way like on facebook you can 'tag' people in your posts so you type like @name here and it tags them, what if you could do that on the forum? Like if you wanna mention someone, it'll link to their HabboxForum profile spose it could have some good uses...

dont even know if it's possible, and it's like a weird idea and idk if it'd get used but hey depends what other people say

o and you get notified if someone tags you in a post

it'd be good aswell for like things like competitions and congrats threads because people can post visitor messages without hassling to search

I like it myke, I don't know the ins and outs of the technical stuff, that's what I have Jamesy for so I'll speak with him, although when you type in names to the PM thingy it suggests names so I don't know if that can be taken and placed elsewhere on the forum.

If not it could definitely be done by BB code tag I think, a button which you could press and put in the users ID and then it'd create a link to their profile, infact with the www.habboxforum.com/member.php?username= feature it could even be name.

LOL r u joking i didnt even know that bloody username thing existed, i was always remembering peoples ids if i needed to get back on their profiles :rolleyes:

That's a pretty good idea Myke. I think it would certainly speed things up around the forum and I like the idea of being notified when someone else tags you. Hope it's possible to do :D

Couldn't you just hyperlink the name used?
I know that wouldn't be able to inform them. But isn't it like that? :)

Im confused. You mean tagging people would give a link to their profile or notify them they've been tagged? If the latter, I'd love you forever and say YES PLS. if the former, I don't think it'd really help competitions that much but may be helpful for other things.

you can already do this i'm sure by just putting a link in the post

yh you can but it's much easier to type @ then their name than having to find their profile URL and they don't get notified, but Mike, if they get notified and it links to their profile, then it'll be good for competitions.

oh i get you now, yeah it's a good idea but not the most important one on the agenda
