If my life goes to plan after college i'm hoping to go to uni in America which is just over a year away.
So I was wondering would it be worth it to spend my money on a car when I could just save that money for when I go away?

Don't bother spending money now, you're only here for another year or so, and you have to pay for insurance, petrol ect. It will drain your finances, save it for the USA and then buy one when you're over there.
USA, USA, USA.

If you think the car will boom your budget , don't buy it.
If you think you can handle it , then you should.
You can buy a car in the U.S. for much cheaper than you could in the U.K. That alone is a huge reason to save the money for a year and have the opportunity to purchase a much nicer car that will also last you a lot longer.
But, if you feel that you would rather have a car now, and can feasibly support that decision, than choose what is best for you.
you should purchase a real car when you get over here.
You are only going to be here another year so you can probably go without a car until you go to America...
Go get to bank get an ISA which will bump your money up and get a better car when your in the USA :)
i'd wait til ya get over there. motoring is cheaper in the states too
Depends how useful a car would be in that year, I bought a car 18 months before I came to uni and it was unbelievably helpful for the year and made my life a lot easier.
