Usually if you need to make small posts you're in the spam forums. Having the word limit as it is means people can't spam up the other forums as they're usually meant to engage more than the usual teenage "grunt" and one worded answers :P 4 letters isn't really any different to 6 - 6 is pretty lenient as it is :P
Personally i think it should be raised;
i think its only a problem in the games section where your stating numbers with 1-2 digits.
;
If the limit is currently 6, i dont see how a 6 letter word, can create an active discussion.Quote:
A6. Do not post pointlessly ~ ~ Do not post off-topic ~ An off-topic post has no relevance to the topic or any previous post that is relevant, or does little to positively contribute to the discussion.
~ Do not spam/make pointless posts. It is not allowed to post random, meaningless, posts or threads on the forum. Examples of this are (ROFLCOPTER!!!!!!); (BYRDSB +HKK; ) (I am a plane)
~ Do not posts threads which only allow for short, one or two word answers and do not promote active discussion
No it shouldn't because this just incourages pointless posting, you shouldn't post "Great" in the first place unless it's in spam and I think in spam the word count is lowered? however i might be wrong on that one.
I think it's there to encourage people to give longer replies in their posts and to be honest short answers only happen in the Spam forum anyway which I don't think is too much of an issue.
@ The Don, I don't think it is.
It does annoy me but other people will pointless post. A bit of a no win situation.
Why not just remove it altogether in spam?
I don't think it's possible, however I could be wrong. I think 6 is a pretty fair limit, if anything I'd say make it more like 8 or 10 to encourage more reasonable replies.
For forums like spam where it's not needed it's easy to avoid anyway, all you have to do is leave a huge space between words. :P
