Well that makes sense. Diana married the heir to the throne so I guess that's why she was a princess and Camilla was divorced so that would make it awkward for her,
If Charlie dies, then Kate will become a princess :)
Only right really. Other people who have married into the family didn't get the princess title either.
Actually, she is technically a Princess, her full title being Her Royal Highness The Princess William Arthur Philip Louis, Duchess of Cambridge, Countess of Strathearn, Baroness Carrickfergus, MA.
She cannot however bear the title "Princess Catherine" as she wasn't born a Princess.
How do you work that out? 'Your Royal Highness' is afforded to quite a few of the royals. She will be a princess when William is direct heir to the throne and will then be called Princess Catherine. Camilla isn't as she was divorced and there is no precedent for a divorced woman being called a princess.
As wife to Prince William, she is Princess William as she takes on his title, as in any marriage. Technically Camilla is Princess Charles blah blah blah blah. Obviously, Camilla isn't Princess of Wales for certain reasons, however Kate can't be known under the "Princess" title until William is the direct heir to the throne, but she is in terms of the Royal family itself, a princess.
If you are married, you take on your husbands title? For instance if someone married John Smith they would become Mrs John Smith. Kate takes Princess William, as William is a Prince, it's his title however, not hers - if it was to be her own she would have had to be born into the Royals or if William was first in line.
