unlocking iphone 3gs +rep.

(sorry if there's been a thread about this before, i'm sure there has.)

hiyaa, i have an iphone 3gs and i'm looking to unlock it as o2 are messing me about a bit with my contract, and my family currently have a spare orange pay monthly sim knocking about. if it's possible, i'd prefer to unlock the phone without having to jailbreak. but if it comes down to jailbreaking, if anyone could link me to a clear-ish guide. i'm not a complete noob, i should be able to cope.

This will be a full and official unlock, and it will not be broken by any future software updates :)

This. If you do it the unofficial way you'll have tons of hassle when Apple bring out iOS updates.

If you go down the jailbreak road then there are video guides on YouTube... So you will be able to follow and pause it step by step
