Well Done Habbox News
Once upon a moon Habbox had a legendary news team that did a lot of digging. Somewhere along the way, the hallway protests died, Sulake banned a lot of the sneak previews we managed to grab, and the news became merely reporting Sulake's new promotions. While Habbox stayed a way to keep track of Habbo news with a different twist than the Habbo-provided news, Habbox news was much less relevant.
Which is why I have to give props to stories like these: https://habbox.com/#!/News/article/630
Interesting, relevant, good research, well read, and the type of thing that will make Habbox news a must-read source again.
I've obviously not been keeping up with Habbox news that much but I picked a random two pages and on one it was mostly re-reporting Habbo stuff, the other one I found this https://habbox.com/#!/News/article/612 which is also something that users wouldn't see from Habbo itself.
Hoping to see many more stories like this, and well done to the news department!

Agreed. Well done, Habbox!

It's an interesting article, but I think it's only an issue if you're buying rares rather than selling them. It happens in reality, some people manage to sell an item for more than its average value. Is it really fixing the price, or is it a Habbo defintion of price fixing (i.e. not the correct definition)? It seems the issue here is Habbo calling it the average price, when I think the article hints towards it being the last sale of the item. If it is the real average, then the item must of sold for way more than 706 credits to create that average :P
A good article though, it's really weird seeing so much research being put into an article. It would be nice to see more of these articles. In fact, Habbo News which is regurgitated for Habbox could be written to a more userbase level, like "what this means to you, how you can go about it" etc. etc.

-
Way to go the News department. Excellent articles there. :)
-
I've always said that to move news into the future, they need more articles like that rather than just a rewording of something else. That's a very well thought-out article :)
-
Glad I didn't write it now as I wouldn't have done as much research and effort into it! I agree it's an interesting article!
-
Go News Dept LOL :) Wish you good luck!

Well Done :D
Just thought i'd add this - the same thing has happened to the Violet Parasol - It says the average is over 50c in the marketplace!

On behalf of the department I'd like to say thank you to everyone for their kind feedback. We have recently stepped up our game, we've made a large amount of changes, we've changed the way in how our reporters find news to write, which sources they use. We used to have an RSS Feed, basically where the reporters used to get all of the news fed into a forum and they could then claim the article and basically they'd be rewriting it. As Mike said above, we have indeed changed this, the RSS feed is gone, it has been replaced by as Tasks forum where reporters post the reports they're going to be writing themselves. HotelUser and I are pushing reporters to write more interesting and engaging news, making the reader want to comment. It was a real challenge putting the changes into place as a lot of the reporters didn't like them and left the department, we've recently however gone up to a team of 14 once again and although we still have a couple of problems with presentation in terms of images, I can most definately say that we're making fast but also great progress all of which is down to our fantastic team of dedicated news reporters.
Edit: That reply sounds awful, sorry if some of it makes no sense. Been up since 5am! :( :P
