upon purchasing it you dont get the full 10 hours of combat, its slightly lower i believe, but it lasts for 10 hours fully charged
Popular ones seem to be rapier / longsword.

When you first buy it it comes with 20% charge which lasts 2 hours of combat. :) best depends on what you're killing but the rapier is usually the first choice since it's brill for most slayer monsters.
