Would I be able to get any help? (in the UK)

As a quick back story, I'm 16, left school in June. I grew up in one town then about 4 months later we moved 130 miles away to another town.

Anyway, I really miss where I used to live, I miss all my friends, the surroundings etc, there was loads to do there but here its just :/ boring I guess. I speak to my friends everyday on the xbox, but its just not the same as being there.

Basically I just wanna move back down. I would be happy to get a job here and save money for a long period of time, then get a job down there and move, but I know there is no way of me affording a flat etc on 3.64 an hour. Ino my 21 year old brother also wants to go. It's something I have really set my heart on, so no stay at home blah please. Basically, I just wanna know if there was any help at all I could get with this, I have searched and found naff. Thanks in advance.

well all this is a lot easier said than done... as i'm sure you will know. to be blunt i don't think it's realistic and i don't think you're going to be able to afford a flat, then have you thought about all your bills? gas, electric, council tax, the list goes on... i don't think there's much help around these days moving out isnt as simple as it were back in the day. i understand the point you miss your friends but it doesn't take much to hop on a train and visit them from time to time, plus is it even legal to rent a flat at the age of 16? i'm not sure.

In short if it were possible i reckon every 16 year old teenager would've got a job and moved out, i aint saying it's impossible but you have to think realistically tbh

oh and i know people who've moved out simply cause they wanted to (not far away only in the same city) and they have had to settle with hostels and stuff, trust me they aint nice places.

totally agree with all of this.

finish yr education (or training or whatever you do with yr life), save up if you want to and see where you are in a couple of years. you may think you wanna live away from home but the reality of the situation is so harsh. and you didn't mention what yr home situation is like but i don't think it could be any worse than living completely on the breadline on yr own in probably a horrible place.

basically: do not put yrself in a situation that can be avoided. you need to learn to move on from that place and settle where you are. looking back will get you nowhere.

yeah your 100% right i'm 19 in a few weeks and when i lived in Romania last summer for a few months i realized how much i took for granted, having to do everything yourself!!

but yeah [@]@impliedpillow[/@] you're still a kid you have your whole life ahead of you for the serious stuff you don't wanna wish away your teen years honestly... You'll look back at this one day and laugh, we all do it though we all make plans in our head and think everythings gonna turn out perfectly blahblahblah but life aint like that

is there are univeristies in the area? if so wait two years and go to Uni there

Dont you think in a few years that your mates might be away and off to university? It sucks that your away from them but just gotta get on, if you wanted a place im sure a hostel would be able to you. But as someone said before they are not nice and my mate has lived in one for about a year and I see him pretty frequent and I couldn't do it. 4,000th post toooooooooo :)
