I was actually reading this article before and I was quite a shocked really.
In my honest opinion I don't think she'll take that amount of time out for her relationship. If anything I think it will be around 1-2 years before she'll be back. I don't think she was actually being serious when she said it either, it seems in like a jokey way if you understand? I don't mind as much though, It'll nice for her to have a break and settle down with Simon. After all the work she's been through and the stress of the surgery etc she deserves it if you ask me. Oh yeah, this interview was before the Grammys too so that might have some sort of effect on her choices, haha. There's also rumours of her writing her new album sometime soon, which will be somewhat different to the previous ones.

She needs five years for the pain of the breakup to sink in so she can write another album of depressing songs :P
Maybe at some point during those 5 years she can find something to sing about other than how omgterrible all men are

Didn't expect her to take a break! I thought she would be ready to get back into it after her surgery.
