Drop in players
Okay so i have been away from habbo for around 6-7 months now and have noticed a significant fall in the amount of daily online players, it use to be around 7000+ in the daytime and sometimes even 10,000+ in the evening. I heard some rumor that chat was disabled and noone could talk on habbo? And some speculation over pedophiles, but as im playing it now im only seeing around 4000 players max online, does anyone know if any of these are the causes or has habbo "run its time" so to say?

Channel 4 reported on all the paedophilia going on in Habbo.
Habbo got flooded with people who'd seen the C4 thing, and it spread online quickly.
Sulake muted every hotel and every player with every form of communication 1 by 1 (only stickies were left but they were disabled eventually).
Sulake added a 'limited chat' which is quite frankly dreadful :l
All of that caused a massive drop in players and it's only been climbing very very slowly. The mute was for about 3 weeks, hence so many people simply not bothering to return.

I think some of the users will return once the safety chat isn't as strict and its more free talk.
-
Ah thanks for clearing that up, glad i wasn't on habbo during that time then :) yeah i have noticed the safety chat is a bit to over sensitive
-
Just a bit ;) Glad to see you're back and active on Habbo and Habbox :)
Btw, don't try and say but, it wont let you, well it wont let you say anything to be fair.
-
Yeah ive tried saying but many times and it just blocks it, If i keep repeating words that are blocked is there a chance i will get banned, if so is it permanent or just like a day thing?
-
For saying but, probably not. But like instant message words (msn, skype) and swear words etc you will probably be banned.
DarkRed was banned for saying skype. So yeah, just be careful.
-
Okay cheers, ill be sure not to mention things like that anyway :)
-
Ahaa, well its a big risk saying words. They moderate pretty much every room now and ban for anything.
-
And they expect players to come back with moderation so strict?
