laptop help

so mums looking for new laptop, was hoping for some ideas? just for general use (web browsing, word/office stuff) really, nothing major

had a look at these which seem decent, was wondering which would be better out the two or if there are any better options? price range nothing more than £400 (she doesn't need some top of the range model)

If its just for internet and office stuff have you considered a Chrome Book?

she needs to be able to scan and stuff too, plus always nice to have option for other stuff if needed

This looks great, the design firstly catches my eye. It'll do everything you need it to-do. All laptops can scan stuff from printers and that, so I'd go for this one. :)

yeah think i'm leaning more towards that one since specs are better if not the same and its cheaper, better design

Definitely get a laptop with an Intel Processor 3 at minimum. It will be miserable without. And she should buy the Microsoft license for the laptop, because that will be very essential for her, unless you already have a key for it.

I am not a fan of AMD processor's but some people love them, so if you have experience with them and no complaints, then stick to the one you found. Otherwise, Intel makes a better processor with a better warranty.

We got a silver laptop a few months back that was a few hundred (cheaper end though) and my mum isn't a big tech person at all, but it's pretty clear to use/the buttons easy to type on - I can't for the life of me remember the brand/type though.

For parents (and people like me who aren't good at tech) it's always best going for a mainstream brand or model I think.
