I'm dubious of course, but the fact that she's so rich makes me believe she wouldn't do it unless she really believed in it. I don't know, I just don't want anything to ruin the original film series.
That's cool! She's also written a small film for when the new Wizarding World opens later this year, so lots of new Harry Potter stuff!
bit surprised but I'll trust her judgement cos she's normally good at picking out which deals are worthwhile (not for the money, just what's going to add to the harry potter world and what's just a money-grabbing exercise).
I think this'll kill the franchise tbh. She's making a film based upon the world created in the harry potter books and then she's making it more or less nothing to do with Harry Potter, she's just trying to make more money off the franchise. Saying it has nothing to do with Harry Potter is just so people think it won't be more of the same

It's up to her, she made Harry Potter. If she thinks she can pull it off let her get on with it.
It won't kill the franchise considering it's the most successful in the world :P And she is half basing it off the book of the same name, which was written between the 4th and 5th books I think?
Anyway, it's the same sort of thing as Doctor Who and Torchwood... Same universe, but nothing to do with the Doctor himself. And she really doesn't need the money considering she has over a billion dollars...
quite excited to see how it all turns out. new harry potter-ish stuff sounds good, yay
I am definitely interested in seeing how this turns out.
If anything this will enhance the franchise. I view the Harry Potter story just to be one aspect of a much wider world, as long as they don't link TOO MUCH then it should be fine.
