Stephen King to Shining Sequel - Doctor Sleep

I heard about a possible sequel to the shinning a few years back just after I'd read the shining, a favourite horror book of mine and while a lot might disagree also a very overrated horror film based on the book.

Stephen King has just announced the book will be released on the 24th September. Doctor Sleep will focus on the child from the original, Danny, who is now all grown up and using his Shining powers to help those close to death in a care home move to the next life. However he ends up meeting a girl who has the same powers as him and physic vampires who live of the essence of children with these powers.

King is slightly worried that a lot of people will judge the book on it's predecessor which is only to be expected. I'm not sure if it will be able to beat the shining but I'm definitely curious to give it a read and see where it goes to.

Has anyone on here read the original and what are you expectations for the sequel?
