Soo, when I boot up my PC (Windows 8.1, but I THINK it started happening when on 8), after a few minutes I get this annoying round of applause noise, and I can't work out what is making it :L

you can change your start up sound
could it be that?
Afraid not - no start up sound, and it seems to happen a minute or two after signing on :SQuote:

I reckon it's an application start up sound
similar to skypes annoying gasp sound it makes when it starts up
It's a virgin media advert on skype
Tools > Options > Notifications > Alerts and messages > untick promotions
