You can use social media for a lot of different things like business, work etc.
Personally I only really use is to socialise and to keep in touch with people I wouldn't get to see irl. I also use Facebook to communicate with other people in my class about college stuff. I use Skype for habbox but that's pretty much it. I know a few people who use it for business and selling. My Mam does it and it actually works really well for her.
Do you use it for anything other than socialising?
Facebook for keeping in touch with friends and seeing what everyone is up to.
Twitter for keeping up to date with anything i'm remotely interested in.
Tumblr / Pintrest for inspiration
Just communicating/socialising. Nothing too extravagant.

I usually just speak to my friends face to face or through whats app / skype
Facebook would be the main one, to keep in touch and to see whats going on.
To waste time I don't have. I rarely post anything on Facebook anymore and that's the main social media site I use. I use messenger to arrange meeting friends, talking to people and I also get invited to parties etc on Facebook too.
