- A research poll of Syrian refugees by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, the first of its kind, recently found that refugees blame Israel (the Jews), American and Shia Islam Iran more than they do the Islamic State

- The same poll found that 13% of Syrian refugees - assuming they are being honest - have a positive view of Islamic State

The Paris attacks however threw a security spotlight on the migrant flow, after the discovery at the scene of one of Friday's attacks of a Syrian passport registered in the Greek island of Leros on October 3.

But Ankara has stepped security measures in recent months after a series of deadly attacks blamed on the extremists, including a twin suicide bombing in Ankara that killed 102 people last month.

According to official data released to AFP last week, in the first half of 2015 over 700 foreign suspected jihadists were detained and deported from Turkey whereas for all of 2014 the figure was 520.

There are dozens of conflicts going on at any one time in the world with millions of people involved. If we went by your doctrine, if you really meant it, we'd allow them all to come into European nations which means in the end we wouldn't have any European nations left by the sheer numbers involved.

In fairness, we are the ones bombing their homes from the air.

Islamic State are vile, but we have the air force capabilities. I go back to what you continually bang on about; we caused the problems in the Middle East... or do you only use that argument when it suits you?

Are you claiming to me that the western powers since 2003 have caused the likes of Wahhabism and Shia-Sunni sectarianism in Islam?

My position isn't really that hard to understand on foreign policy and the Middle East. Our foreign policy, by removing strongmen such as Assad - who I recall you(?) and others arguing with me two years ago telling me we should bomb him whilst I said we should not to much hatred and abuse directed at me - has created a vacancy whereby worse people have taken over. That however is not the same as claiming that Islam and the Middle East would be just fine if we left them alone and that strains like Wahhabist Islam would not exist because they would and they existed long before George W Bush and Anthony Blair.

Our foreign policy has been stupid and strains of Islam have been a brewing problem in the region for over a century. Comprehend me?

FYI I am going abroad for over three months to volunteer where I will have no electricity and internet so yes I am putting "my money where my mouth is". I actually like helping others, I do not discriminate against people based on their skin colour, religion or which country's passport they hold. To me, a human is a human and should be treated in the same manner we expect others to treat us. I never stand for discrimination.

Funny, how you do not want to let in refugees who have different views to ours, how you are not willing to risk British deaths, refusing to hand over our land to others, yet I do not see you posting daily about the attacks we launch(ed) on Iraq etc due to us having a different view to them, how we kill innocent people daily yet do not want others to kill us, how we took over Iraqi land to help our pockets but do not wish to use our land to help others.

You walk out to university, to the shop etc - you may sometimes have a slight fear of a terrorist attack but in general in everyday life it is at the back of your/most peoples mind. Most people in this country leave their houses without thinking "will I return?!". People in Iraq which we destroyed leave their home wondering if they will even reach their destination. Imagine if that was the situation here. Why? Because some lunatic country disagreed with us and wanted to steal our resources. Oh wait, you are against that but not so strongly against it when we did the same. And even if you were against it, you do not want our country to be responsible for the shit we put them in?

Pakistan has Muslims. India has millions of Muslims. I do not see their Muslims blowing up other countries because of rubbish you keep quoting. Why do they in middle east? This is why ISIS has been able to recruit so fast, by appealing to those who were grieving and wanted revenge. People who refuse to join them risk death. Unless you have traveled to these countries, you have not seen poverty with your very own eyes, you will not seen the struggle of these people. This is why you lack empathy. I feel sorry for you Dan. I really do.

I posted numerous threads about Syria and Libya when our politicians wanted to go in and argued against half the forum who were saying exactly the same as you are to me now, asking how I could not go and help those poor defenceless people against the nasty Assad. I warned what would happen and it happened and the same for Libya. I tend to use my head rather than feelings in these matters, which is why I will not allow any feelings to endanger the British people in a reckless act of opening the borders to very damaged people.

Then you're obviously very ignorant of what is going on inside the Pakistani security services where support for terrorism is rife, you're obviously blind to what is going on in the Swat Valley and on the border with Afghanistan where the central government has basically given way to jihadists and you're obviously very blind to the hotbed of radicalism that the Middle East is and the sectarian war that is taking place between Shia and Sunni.
